Troubleshooting E58

Common Issue 1:

Motors move at different speeds as per below video

Credits : 65drones customer

Solution: Calibrate the E58.

It is good practice to calibrate the E58 , before every usage ,or when it suffered any previous " crashes"

Note : Please place E58 on a flat ground before you calibrate .

You can reset the Eachine E58’s gyro settings in two different ways, either using the remote control or through the JY UFO phone APP.

Calibrating the Eachine E58 by remote controller

  • Step 1: Turn on the remote controller;
  • Step 2: Long press the power switch to turn ON the Eachine E58;
  • Step 3: Place the drone on a horizontal surface;
  • Step 4: Bind the transmitter with the drone by pushing the throttle stick to the highest position, and then pull it back to the lowest position. Solid light will indicate successful bind;
  • Final step: Move both sticks to lowest right corner (like in the image above) for about 2-3 seconds. LED lights will start to flash rapidly. Wait few seconds till the lights are solid again and you are done.

Calibrating the Eachine E58 by phone APP

Calibrating the Eachine E58 through APP is even more easier. After you connected to drone with your phone. You need to enter the settings menu (like in the image bellow) and select the “Gyro calibrate” icon. First, the LEDs will start to flash rapidly, than steady on. Finish! That was all, you are done and ready for your next flight 🙂

Common Issue 2: After changing the propellers, the E58 is not able to fly up/fly sideway/fly in circle.

Solution: Check that the propeller alphabet matches picture ( as per page 2 of your instruction manual).

Common Issue 3: Loss of Power and connection while mid flight or upon take off

Solution : If you are using wifi to fly the E58 , ensure wifi connection is strong before you go ahead. We suggest to use the remote controller to control the E58 and using the wifi to fly it fpv.

If you are using the controller to fly the E58 and there is loss of power and connection, check that battery is securely inserted in.

* The " clasp" as circled should be fully inserted into the drone, leaving onlythe horizontal markings visible at the exterior.

If inserted properly,It should look linear at the front of the E58.

Common Issue 4: I am able to start the drone but I do not know how to move the drone in different directions.

Solution : After pairing the drone and launching it successfully in the air, move the control sticks according to the labels below.

Please note that the front of the E58 is the front with the camera ,from the E58 perspective.  If you want to fly it in your perspective, activate the headless mode.

Common Issue 5: After a few " crashes", one or more of the motors are dead.

Definition of dead motor: There is no movement on the propeller.

Solution: E58 is a solderless quadcopter which works on a simple plug and play system. You have to unscrew the E58, remove the dead motor and insert a new motor. No special equipment such as soldering gun is required.  You will need a screwdriver to unscrew .

Picture above showing removal of faulty motor.

Plug in the new motor and screw back the exterior.

Common Issue 6: After calibration, my e58 is still not able to fly perfectly straight, even in low winds conditions.

Solution : After pairing the E58,please trim the E58, according to the picture below. Page 4 of instruction manual.

In short, if the quad drifts to the right, u tune to the left and vice versa according to the direction it drifts.

Hi James,

Try to calibrate it and see whether problem persist.

If it persist, Probably you got a bad set.

The motor that runs by itself, I suggest you replace it.
As E58 motors can be easily assembled ( plug and play) , I think the problem will be resolved after you change the faulty motor

My E58 flies great . It is very responsive. Fly on WIFI but have trouble taking pictures in air . Control button or WIFI Button????

I plug in the battery and one motor runs without even turning it on why is it doing this. It’s brand new out the box.

Hi Richard,

The drone will keep on blinking ( if already airborne) if the battery is running low. It will slowly land when detect there is not enough battery .

if while trying to pair with the controller and there is low battery, the drone will keep on blinking and not able to pair with the controller.

65 Drones

Hello, are there any way during the flight to know if the battery is low ?. Thanks

Hi Andreas,
could the motors be placed wrongly?

from clockwise ( camera facing the front, back of drone facing you), the color of motor wires should be

red blue(front left) – clockwise rotation
black-white( front right)-counter clockwise rotation
red-blue ( back right)— clockwise rotation
black-white ( back left)— counter clockwise rotation

E58 tilts in start phase upside down – calibration done and propeller alphabet checked, all motors turning – any idea for the root cause?

Hi Alexander,

My guess on your issue:
it has nothing to do with the wifi transmission since you are using the controller to fly.

Rather, check that the battery is fully inserted in. if it is not fully inserted in, very often the e58 will disengage by itself.

The good thing about e58 is , you can unscrew the entire body and see what is going on underneath .

Just received my Eachine e58 yesterday. Tested it very briefly (minute or two) in my home last evening and it seemed to work fine. I took it outside today and twice (once at 30 feet away, once at 15 feet away) the drone motors simply turned off and it crashed onto concrete.

The rear legs are damaged but it will still fly, although not well.

The drone has more range then the two instances where it simply shut off so I am wondering why? I fly using the controller and use wifi for the camera-to-phone video feed only.

This had decent reviews but it seems odd it would shutdown despite being so close to me.

Hi Jean and Steve,

Please use another mobile device and try to download the app again.

the sequence in pairing the E58 with the app is as shown on this forum page
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2983426-Eachine-E58-720-Wifi/page3

Hi Hardik,

You can unscrew the cover of E58 to retrieve back the battery.

65 Drones

There is no wifi signal coming from e58 drone. Was working fine last time I used it. But know no signal??
Is there a reset on the drone ?

65 Drones

I can t connect the drone by wifi. I don t Know why.

65 Drones

Hi,

I inserted the battery upside down and now it is not coming out. what do I do next

65 Drones

Hi Nik,

download the e58 app.then go to settings,wifi ,select e58 .
watch this video on how the user connect the apphttps://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=196&v=IG5WSzSAzDc

If still cant, pls use another mobile device and see whether problem persist

65 Drones

I can’t find a wifi connection to the drone itself

65 Drones

Hi Dan,

Can u check that when you calibrate, the drone is placed on flat ground. The propellers and arms are all level

If there are unbalanced forces, calibration will not be effective.

Considering that it is able to take off normally, after which lose control, i guess maybe the parts are not inserted properly ( maybe certain parts are loose ).

65 Drones

To andrew,

Calibrate it and see whether the problem persist.

If it persist,
Maybe replace the front motor and see whether problem persist since it is only 1 motor spin uncontrollably.

If there is issue with the circuit board, usually it is 4 motors spin uncontrollably without power switch

65 Drones

I just unboxed my E58 and after connecting the battery the front motor spins full speed without power switch, what could be wrong any ideas?

65 Drones

Hi, I have a Eachine e58 drone and it has started to fly erratically. The issue is after the drone is calibrated and then takes off for flight it loses control. I can fly it for a while with control, but then the drone will end up veering off uncontrollably and crashing. I have replaced the props once and it flew fine for a while and then this problem developed. Can you give me any insight into why this would be happening?
